COVID-19: A likely foodborne disease.

How likely is SARS-CoV-2 to be transmitted through food? If you consider communal eating practices and contamination of ready-to-eat (RTE) food in a food service environment as foodborne disease (which fits the WHO definition of such), then transmission through food is quite likely.

Putting COVID-19 and foodborne disease into perspective.

The current epidemic of SARS-Cov-2 sweeping the world is serious, no doubt about that. However, there are most certainly other (foodborne) diseases that are more serious – let’s put SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 into perspective.
